Important information about tank readings

The form is designed to gather data for a thirty-one (31) day period. In order to perform an accurate analysis of your inventory, sales and delivery information, it is essential that your record the data in the proper location on the form. It is important to remember that the information to be supplied on this form has to reflect the activity that has occurred between the time the last stick of ATG measurement was taken and the time at which the current stick or ATG measurement is taken.

Column A - Start Stick: The stick measurement at the start of the day. No use of tanks allowed during the sticking process. It should have the same value as the previous day's "END STICK".

Column B - Today's Meter: The sum of all meter readings taken for the tank today. It is to be collected at the end of the day.

Column C - Previous Meter: Simply enter the value of yesterday's "TODAY'S METER" into this box.

Column D - Sales : Place the total sales taken from your Point Of Sales system into this box. If you do not have an automated device then: Subtract the "PREVIOUS METER" number from "TODAY'S METER" number and place the result in this box.

Column E - Deliveries : Record the gross Litre amount delivered, as stated on the delivery receipt. If no deliveries were made, simply enter 0.

Column F - Book Inventory : Add the "START STICK" and the "DELIVERIES" columns, then subtract the "SALES" column. Enter the result into "BOOK INVENTORY". (Formula: BOOK INVENTORY = START STICK + DELIVERIES - SALES)

Column G - End Stick : The stick measurement at the end of the day. To be taken after close of business, with no vehicles parked over tank's location.

Column H - Over / Short : Subtract "BOOK INVENTORY" from "END STICK". Enter the result into this box. (Formula: Over/Short = BOOK INVENTORY - END STICK)

Column I - Cumulative Over / Short : This is the cumulative Over / Short value - a running total of all Over / Short values. Simply find the last Cumulative Over / Short value, add today's Over / Short value to it and enter the result in this box. NOTE: CUM O/S for the first day of month with be the same as that day's O/S value.

Column J - Water : Once a week preferably, but no less than once a month, measure and record the water in the tank. If no water was found when tested OR there was no test for the current day, enter 0. If water was detected, enter the number of Litres of water that is still REMAINING in the tank. Enter 0 if all water was removed.

Column K - Initials : Record the initials of the person taking and recording the inventory information.
